Shed update and Dragonflies!

Alright I am going to do some very quick updates!

Shed - the shed now has to dutch style doors completely done! We also finished off one loft!

Dragonflies - our yard (only our yard) has been awash with thirty to forty dragonflies almost every non raining evening! I love dragonflies! If there were one magical animal, one thing that inspired fairy tales, I would know it was the dragonfly!

The Path to Me - I finally started my meds and was happy to find that weight loss could be a side effect - lets all cross our fingers and PRAY that happens!
I haven't noticed much difference save the fact that I am more alert.
Yes I know this all takes time but seriously if you don't know this by now or are new to my blog - I don't do patience.
People used to pray God would give me patience he gave me the most patient of husbands  - I took it as a sign - its just not in my makeup.

We are going to be putting up the fence and possibly the arbor in the new two days! I will try to get photos up!

Day 4 Building a Shed

Today was all about the walls!

While we had the outside walls we needed to square it off and make it stronger.

Something about the last three weeks of it being rained on...
we needed bottom layer
before adding the interlacing panels

Sunny day and some work accomplished

Lets pray we can do even more tomorrow

That is after Little Man's speech therapy!

Day 3 Building a Shed

First off if I hadn't started the day with Coffee this would not have been possible

9 Hours, 3 adults, 2 kids and one dog underfoot.

Day 2 Building a Shed

Yesterday I had a really bad sunburn and hubby was sore from all the work the day before so we took one day off to recoup before tackling the shed once again.

Now this time I am going to give you some solid facts. Our shed will be a 10x12 shed with almost 8 foot sides and a loft area for upper storage.

We found a similar shed kit from a nearby lumber store they wanted 1850.00 for the kit without shingles or nails. This was far out of our price range so we looked instead at the 8x10 for 1000.00 still minus the shingles and nails. Taking a quick inspection we realize that the kit is using 1x2's and 8 foot sections with a two foot section added on. We decided to see if we could price out the material and make our own.

700.00 dollars (shingles, hinges, and every bit we needed to build it) later we have enough supplies to not only build the 10x12 but to build it better. Using 2x4's and whole pieces. No cut sections pieced together but a whole 12 foot beam all the way across. Am I happy? Oh Yeah!

Day 1 Building a Shed

1. Buy massive amounts of wood and lumber and then wait for it to stop raining.

2. Clear the area and lay out the base.

3. Have a very large bucket of nails and a friend who likes the same type of "nail/hammer/pound" jokes and "Bang" away at it.

4. Make sure to take stress breaks

5. Frame walls


That's all we managed today, we would have gotten 3 walls up but we need to return a few pieces of wood and buy a couple more of a different size.

All in all a very busy productive day!
