Camera! as well as some ramblings
This beautiful sleek 14 mp 3d camera is zooming towards me as I type! This is about the best camera I could find for the money that is not a professional. While I love photography and I really would love to give more time to its pursuit, I need a camera with quality that can take photos without a lot of prep. I am horrible with zooming, angling and working out sun angles professional cameras require - way to many dials for how fast my shots need to be!
This is rated as a good sports camera which should be perfect for capturing my hyper duo!
With the arrival of my new toy I will most certainly be back up to my full blogging potential again - I have missed having a working camera!
Tomorrow the kids will be spending the day with their grandparents and I get the whole day off! I am so thrilled I don't know what to do first!
Tonight I will be making dinner from my garden and the grandparents garden -Stuffed pumpkin & Spaghetti squash with sauce. Its sure to be amazing! I will attempt to use my old camera to photo but the kids really got it good the last time they spill juice on it.
Hence me getting my Christmas present early!
I have also been working again on book one and pleased to announce that I am once again in the "flow" of my work.
This summer I took off to work on me - now that I am awake, alert, slightly alive and getting healthy I am ready to dive back into the work!
Thank you my blogging friends for being so patient with me over the summer ;)

The Guild!!!
I was never a nerd/geek/gamer until I married one. After a few years I quit again - lets face it I have enough drama in this life to handle a whole other life, but before quitting my game life I have been a guild leader/ guild vice president and a noob trainer.
I've played several online roll playing games and loved getting to know some of the people on line and yes just like in the show The Guild those lines blur. We met up with several of the people that we gamed with, dinner drinks and good times. The funny things is how quickly you can bond to people online.
My BFF and I have been friends almost 12 years. We see each other several times a week and talk frequently. When you game though you will play almost every night and part of every day with the same people. Fighting, sharing, talking and working side by side with the same group hours a day on end its easy to feel closer to them then your RL friends.
I have lost touch with my old guild friends, but for those out there that still game (like my hubby) - love gaming (like my cousin) or have gamed (me) Tomorrow Season Five of THE GUILD starts again this time they are going to comic-con!
If you have never seen The guild click this link to watch the first episode (each episode is 4-7 minutes long one season is like watching a movie).
The video is from a small collection of Guild music videos - just them in character having fun!

Mini mix up
A month or so ago I made a deal with my hubby that he could upgrade his seven year old lap top to something newer. As I had taken over his last new laptop that we bought less than two years ago. I love my Acer laptop very much and I only use a quarter of its cool features. I agreed to buying him a new one so not to lose my acer (even though it needs to be fixed).
Then last month he came home from work saying that he could get a really good deal on a mini notebook. Now I am not a huge fan of these tiny mini laptops normally they aren't worth the money, but when he came home saying he could buy one for 20.00 my jaw dropped and I said yes - why the heck not?
We didn't order it right away, we waited for our house agents to tell us the magic closing number, when they did we went ahead and bought the mini and had it shipped to the house.
Can you imagine my surprise when I opened the box to find a bill for 128.00 inside?
Turns out hubby ordered the wrong laptop. We spent last night figuring out if this mini was worth a hundred dollars more than the other mini (500.00 off market price btw), or if we were going to send it back for the other.
The long and short of the matter came down to my deal to buy hubby another laptop a few months from now. This would mean we would end up with four laptops, two desk tops for four people and one can't even read yet.
As I don't need much besides internet and office, I have taken the new mini which does have some fun gadgetry and Hubby will be taking the Acer in to be fixed (children and dropping damage) and then he will have the Acer. Something he is rather smug about.
I have spent the morning on this tiny little mini and I have a few things to say about it.
First off - adorable, cute, feels nice and has a good look.
Second I am still getting used to the keyboard pad combo. This pad is very close to where you type and it messes me up often! I am constantly having to reposition the mouse, re-editing sentences and have been mildly scolding this tiny thing all morning.
When I have this in my new home, in my little office space and mouse on the side things will move along much better!
For now I am practicing typing before starting another book on the mini. I have many many ideas running the gauntlet of my mind and I am ready to start.
If you have a spare minute please run by my Trying to get Published blog and answer the idea poll I have posted. I am trolling for short story ideas.

Poseidon's Storm
I had to borrow this picture, as earlier this evening when I had enough light to see the boiling green clouds, I unfortunately did not have my camera with me.
The dark sea green in the sky tonight made me think of Poseidon (aka King Triton in the little mermaid).
Poseidon is known as the Greek god of the Sea, storms and is also known as an earth shaker.
The storm that is hitting over head is dark, growing and the lightening is amazing! Utah normally has what is known as single strike lightening, tonight's lightening is filling up the whole sky.
Illuminating the whole sky. I love sheet lightening, my BFF, however, does not. In fact she completely freaks out seeing lightening and being out in it.
The storm that will last all of tonight and a good part of tomorrow I have now nicknamed, "Tridents Storm". I also liked to pretend that Zeus and Poseidon are fighting over the sky contesting to who it truly belongs. Keeping with tradition I will also blame the Gulf of Mexico oil spill for this round of contests as its "making Poseidon angry".
Now I am not a big, huge mythological person, but still this is very unusual Utah weather, so why not have some fun with it right?

My Geeky Shows
So we finally found Firefly the whole series (ok only one season but that's all it lasted one season and one movie) at Sams Club for 18.88! Now we need to buy Serenity the movie accompaniment.
This is a family favorite, one of the best series ever made. However some how it fell through the cracks and got dumped! Sad, very very sad.
Next up I have some of my dorky gamers movies.
They have nominal acting,
not so great filming crews but honestly it adds to the believability of the shows.
This movie is called The Gamers Dorkness Rising - Love it!
Hilarious, Silly and a great late night laugh your bum off it's so bad in a fun way.
For anyone who has ever gamed they would love this movie.
(Especially if you ever played a or with a Bard)
All time best movie quote "Hide behind the pile of dead Bards!"
The next show is called The Guild there are two seasons - (two episodes: Season one, Season two)
Seriously funny!
This is a show of gamer misfits.
A group of Guild mates that play all day long.
It shows all the different people that play and how they play.
The show is about this girl and her video blog.
One of her guild mates thinks she is in love with him and shows up at her doorstep.
She starts to help him grow up while at the same time flirting with the guy next door.
It shows the ins and outs as well as the ups and downs
of being Guildies in a face to face world.
This show does have one con - bad language.
5/31/10 add note: just watched the new guild 3 - WOW!
I can not wait for the next episode.
Really bad language, hilarious show.

A day in the life of me
Today I have decided to blog a day in the life of me.
The rich and famous are used to magazines wanting to follow them around for a day.
One day in the life of so and so.
Really? Who cares what a multimillionaire does with all his time?
Seriously as I cook, clean and write that is not the first thing on my mind.
So before I sell my books, before I get mildly well known (I can dream right?)
I would like to share a day in my life - my ordinary everyday lower class life.
Today we did the following items while listening to the classic and beautiful vocal stylings of Zooey Dechanel, in the group She & Him vol 1 (vol 2 is for sale but we don't have it yet - never fear we will).
Pissy did homework
Little man said all of his ABC's as well as signed them all!
Then hubby took the kids into the kitchen for a crafting project.
Beading!
While I took on my less glamorous job
Never fear I have a dishwasher close at hand!
Soon all was well.
Sorry I have an ugly sink -it's clean just really really cheap.
After I announced dinner hubby joined in the beading party to make me a pretty.
Yes Little man is in a diaper - sorry he's potty training and half the time he forgets to put back on his pants.
Eggs, salt, pepper, cheese and onion
Add that to a tortilla, a little more cheese and some sausage...
What you get is a little piece of heaven!
Prissy finishes up the necklace she made for her best friend.
Did I ever mention that my daughter gets more pleasure in giving things away then getting them?
She shares everything!
Love it!
She is wearing a dress her grandmother made for her birthday last year.
My new pretty that my hubby made me!
8 years later and I still want to keep him!
Now I am eating my good food while my children play next door. They of course had to run next door to give the new necklace to the best friend.
I will now continue working on the end of book three happy in the fact that something got done today.

Helpers and my garden!
My Children helping me with the dishes!
Alright they are just the most wonderful and the sweetest in the whole world until of course
they do something to drive me crazy! LOL
My Sugar Snap Peas
Yes I know I will have to re-pot them I just didn't expect them to all grow!
My tomato plant going to try the weird hangy upside down thing
My strawberries plants will be taking more photos of them later.
My very pretty flowering plum tree
My weed patch that I am going to clean up
This is the half that I have been able to weed so far.
Next I am going to poison so they won't grow back then
I am going to add in the cool special dirt.
And finally I am going to plant poppy's here so I won't have to mow
or continue to weed.
:)
Will add more photos soon!
Ps. I am now down to 199!

Decorations!

Finally my tiny living room is all decorated for the holidays! I just love Christmas time, from the people smiling more, to all the lights. Every year we sit down with our very young children and read the story of Jesus's birth, right now I am looking for a set of frankincense, myrrh, & gold. I like visual aides to help bring it to life especially as that is one story I want my babies to pay attention to.

Autumn next to our very shiny and not so heavily decorated tree we went for a simple look this year I am hoping to buy some better decor items on sale this year after Christmas :)

My husband's very beautiful sock, personally I think he has the best sock in the house. However I bought this from a store going out of business 4 years ago so my son is out of luck :(.

My sock is still from when I was 5 years old and my grandma hand made it for me. I love it but I want a more elegant looking one so every year I hit the stores and I just have not found quite the right look but I want to retire the one from my grandma and put it away with lavender and rosemary to keep it for future generations.
In the meantime I am working hard I am trying very hard still to lose the weight and so far I am seeing some pretty fast results, but I still have the rest of the holidays to get through and trying to lose weight at this time is not easy so I will be happy if I don't gain anything.
My hubby is starting physical therapy and needs to lose the weight or we will be looking at a second back surgery that really won't work because of all the weight, so I have around 60-70 pds to lose still and my hubby needs to lose 100 pds. I gained most my weight with my daughters pregnancy due to complications I had to have 2 bags of packed blood and platelets my body thought I was dying to it added another 20 pds on after her birth.
I am still trying very hard to get it all off (5 years later) however better late then never.

A little more about me :)

My hobby at Christmas time is to hand paint my own little village I only have four at the moment because I gave some of my other pieces away. I have two more waiting to be painted and added to the collection but they will have to wait another year before I can even start them.
I have no idea how my mother was able to paint so many during her life but she had a collection of 7 and painted a collection for my Grandmother, my Aunt Cathy, Aunt Susan and my cousin Heidi. My sister and I started our collections 7 years ago, its taken me a while to catch up as its very hard to paint and take care of a newborn at the same time :).
Its been four years (almost) since mama passed away but every time I pull out my Christmas houses I feel that one small part of her is still here with me and I look forward to teaching my children how to add the "magic" into their own houses.

My beautiful Autumn, she is 5 years old full of energy and never stops talking or moving.
She has asthma and so far is allergic to cats, smoke and of course hayfever but we are doing
pretty well managing her breathing last year we moved from a horrid apartment to a mobile home since then her breathing has gotten ten times better. Her loves in life are Tinkerbell, dolls and her little brother.

Gideon is 2 1/2 full of fun, and lots of trouble all rolled into one tiny adorable package.
Just like his sister he never stops except to sleep, however he so far is not allergic to anything Praise God! His major love in life are trains! I know he is only two but he loves them and he knows what he likes lol.
