Farewell Jane Russell

Today at the age of 89 Jane Russell passed away.

Here is the link to a well written article about Jane Russell 89 years of living.

She was best known for her role in Gentlemen prefer blonds, costarring Marilyn Monroe.
I loved her in many of her lesser known movies especially in The Paleface.

She was beautiful, stunning, and strong, making a wonderful and dynamic actress.
While many of my generation may not know her I was raised on her movies. She was loved by many and will be missed.
Aged in death, but preserved forever immortal and forever young on the screen that she loved.

Oh No You Didn't!!!

Doesn't he look cute?
Yes?
Not to me and not right now!

My adorable little man just went into the potty and peed on the floor! This was not him trying to make it to the potty. Nope he just made a large puddle in the middle of the floor!!!

I wish my mama was alive right now so I could once again apologize for my childhood and thank her again that I lived to adulthood! I now fully understand what a miracle it was!

So yes, my almost five year old fully potty trained son is driving me to the brink of my sanity! So in honor of the occasion my son got a quick lesson in mopping. Lets hope this is the end of it.

Herbs and Kids

Goods things:
1.My herbs have really grown in the two weeks since I started them!
2. Prissy my beautiful 7 year old girl learned to whistle last night - All by herself!
3. I am cooking and then will blog my families secret special spaghetti sauce. (No not all the amounts will be listed some secrets must be kept after all.)

Bad Things:
1. My son fell on his head today while swinging between the two couches. (This is not his first injury from this past time.)
2. My last wonderful white starbucks mug that my sister gave me died today. Ironically they must have had the same flaw as both the handles broke away. Now to do justice to these wonderful large coffee mugs I will explain that one lasted 3 years and the other 4 years of hard and frequent use.

I will have to make a run later to buy another set of large heavy mugs - some things you just can't live without!

Yes I live my life in the little moments, if I waited for the big ones I would only live once every 5 years.

As to my hubby and his recent health scare he is on stronger meds and thankfully he did not suffer a minor stroke just a really bad panic attack. This scares me! While at the same time relieves a major stress, how on earth would I handle my husband having strokes in his mid 30's?
Only God knows what the future has in store for us but I would like to spend it with my hubby.

Update - despite it all I still laugh

So Sunday hubby came home early from work - his health problems are getting worse. Moving into more dangerous areas of possible stroke. We have spent the last few days taking care of him.
The kids are finally over their colds and I am the last with the runny nose and cough. No matter what I do I am having a hard time shaking this off.

Yesterday to make things worse I spilled boiling hot water on my stomach. I now have a lovely blooming pink and red spot about five inches by four inches. It is still very sensitive and I am sure it will take several days to heal.
Luckily for me though I know how to treat such things and the pain is gone - as long as its not touched!

Snow has been plentiful this year it has been our good fortune that it snows then melts and then snows again. I feel so bad for those that keep getting more and more and more snow piling up.

Now moving onto the more random ramblings I have reconnected with an old friend and have found joy in being able to talk to her again! How I love Facebook!

Next I have been in a cooking mood this week and will be blogging my on my food blog. As for my book blog I am a little behind. I lost my editor as her family as become more demanding on her time. So I have trapped my hubby into taking over for a little bit. I am hoping to be able to retire him once I get published.
Whether I ever make a ton of money I don't really care just enough to pay off the house, get the kids into a better school and have the hubby be able to stay home and play with our house sounds just perfect.

All in all despite of all the downfalls of the last few months we have smiled, laughed and had good times as a family and in the end that's what counts right?

Free Advice vol 1

1. I will start off with a cute bit of advice from my children.

They came running into the living room breathless with excitement. "Mama we found a secret!" Prissy almost shouted. "Uh huh!" Little Man agreed. "He hurted his foot, for real and I rubbed it and kissed it better and it made the pain go away! We found the secret that had been hidden from us!" Prissy finished her face filled with amazement. "Uh huh!!" Little man added showing me his socked foot.

So you see a little bit of affection makes almost everything better - just get that persons permission first.

Now to the more serious advice

2. If you are with one person in a relationship of any form and you want to be with someone else - don't be a coward break it off with the first person and move on. If you are the type of person that can not make a commitment DON'T.

(please don't message me I don't gossip about friends I am just saying this is a basic rule in life)

3. Next my BFF who runs a very wonderful Autism blog and can not say this for herself as it would "offend" people. If you have any family members or friends that have people in their lives with special needs, HELP them. Read up on the subject; become aware of what they are going through. Ask what you can do to help.

Please don't tell them that what they are going through, "isn't real", "that you don't believe that's a real diagnosis", or say that because you don't understand it, that you will give them their "space". More importantly do not say this is their fault! They are going through enough without being blamed for everything.

You don't have to become an advocate, you don't need to learn everything about the subject nor do you have to change your whole life, but extending one hand of friendship and just being there for them whether you understand or not makes all the difference in the world.

New house guests and an average day with the kids

See aren't they the cutest little new house guests in the whole world?
I do! I also can't wait to see the new movie Gnomio and Juliet!

No I was not always into Gnomes, but in the last few years their cheeky adorable nature won me over.

I think my little puppy needs a bigger bed!

So proud of their new puzzles and how quickly they (with mama's help) put them together.

I bought two boxes so technically I can do all 6 herbs provided

Three will be enough for today.
If I have enough energy and the kids are still on the mend then I might do the other three.

Still not to much going on in our life right now as the kids are sick and still having issues with vomiting, colds and some diarrhea. Not pleasent.
Last week my children broke my new ebook and luckily enough we had enough spare money that my hubby bought me a new one. One that my children aren't allowed to breath on muchless touch.

Just catching up

Kids with their Uncle

Prissy's first sleep over with her new school friend A.

This is however what our family has looked like for the past month.
Pneumonia, double ear infections and bronchitis are the nicest of our sickness symptoms.

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted my mind has been on many other things and the cleaning has been rampant!

Good news we finally got the money back from Streans Lending Inc (an F company) we will be getting a bonus from hubbys work in 15 days and soon we should be able to complete our taxes and we should like normal be getting our money back!

This money will be going to completing more house projects - as I am hosting Thanksgiving again!
